HOW TO PREP YOUR LIPS FOR THE ULTIMATE DUSK EXPERIENCE

HOW TO PREP YOUR LIPS FOR THE ULTIMATE DUSK EXPERIENCE

Mineral based lipstick, as beautiful as it is, can be unforgiving! Starting with a clean base when it comes to make up is true- and it's especially true when it comes to lipsticks.

Gently scrubbing your lips once a week removes dead skin cells that build up and can ruin the look of your lipstick. The skin on your lips is quite thin. Don’t do this any more than once a week- you could strip away the natural oils that protect your lip skin, and cause irritation.

There are a number of products on the market that will slough away dead skin; this is 'Pucker up' by Perk.

Perk ‘Pucker Up’ Lip Scrub which I first discovered in The Vegan Beauty Box .

Ingredients: Organic Cane Sugar, Rose Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Natural GrapeSeed oil, Natural Pink Grapefruit Oils, beet root powder, Vitamin E, Pomegranate Oil

You can easily make your own as well!

I love making mine out of two ingredients:

-1 tsp coconut sugar (sub brown sugar)

-1/2 tsp olive oil or melted coconut oil

Mix well and then, on damp lips, simply massage gently in small circular motions, being careful not to eat too much! (It smells divine and is very sweet- but not for consumption)

Rinse the scrub off and be prepared for smooth lips and the perfect base for your Dusk lipstick.
